Some updates...
YoO!
I was out of the scene for so many time and now, there are new links added.
First of all, the Official Minor Earth Forum closed (more information there). All people who was there moved to Memphis.... *jsust kidding*. The Admins and Moderators are now in another Unofficial forum called WEST OF THE MOON. You can find the way by clicking the respective link at right.
Too late. Really and infortunatelly too late (but late than ever) I want to announce the a-ha Latino Forum. It's the biggest forum in all Latin America, I bet it! The link is also at right. But the language there is Spanish. There are sessions for English speakers. :)
That's it guys. And keep checking MySpace pages from Magne F and Savoy.
New stuff are coming.
It seems that Morten will also have a page at MySpace and it will dedicate sometime to compose songs. Maybe for his next solo album.
a-ha had announced that they will have a break of about 3 years. But, there's a new album in the middle of it. Maybe we can have new stuff earlier than we expect too.
That's it by now... :)
"Not So Strange that I Love Music!" - Tomine Harket to Dagbladet (Aug 8th, 2007)

THE 'TWEEN'S GANG: Back row, from left to right: Ola Høgåsen Mæhlen (15), Tomine and Maren Eikli Hiorth (15). Front row: Julian Høgåsen Mæhlen (13), Robin T. Howard (12), and Siri Vreim Ørbeck (11). Photo: EGMONT/BARNESELSKAPET
(Dagbladet.no): For Tomine Malmquist Harket, the beginning of school this year coincides with the release of the CD «Tweens,» a collection of popular pop songs sung by 10-15-year-olds that the album's record company refers to as the 'Singstar Generation.'Tomine attends the Ruseløkka Skole in Oslo, sings and dances at the West End Dance School, and performed on stage at the tender age of 11 (allerede som 11-åring) in the musical Annie (Annie.)."No, I didn't need time to think about whether or not I wanted to do this. I don't know if I'll become an actor or a singer, but it will definitely be one or the other," Tomine says. Friday she'll be making the trip to Fredrikstad to see her father, Morten Harket, and a-ha perform at Fredrikstad Stadium.Grew Up with Musical Parents "It's no doubt because of mamma and pappa that I've become interested in music. I've grown up with it, naturally. Mamma sings backup on the 'Tweens album, too" she adds.Tomine is the youngest of Morten Harket's three children from his marriage with the former Swedish model Camilla Malmquist. She is the most musically active of her siblings and works dubbing TV series in Norwegian, as well.On the new album, which will be released next week, she sings an ABBA medley, Sugababes' «Round Round», No Doubt's «Don’t Speak», and Marit Larsen's «Under the Surface» – all songs she is personally fond of."The selection came from my suggesting some songs, the producer suggesting some songs, and our trying them out to find out which worked best. No tour is planned yet, but it's definitely a possibility," she says – sounding witbout doubt as if there'd be no objections on her end if it happened.Sees Pappa's concerts by own choice She describes going to see a-ha concerts as "fun.""It's of course fun to see Pappa on stage. I go because I myself want to," she explains..
With her on the 'Tweens project is her friend Maren Eikli Hiorth (15), known as 'Valborg' from the last two Olsenbanden Jr. films, and her fellow actor in Annie who played the role of 'Egon,' Ola Høgåsen Mæhlen (15). The other 'Tween singers are: Julian Høgåsen Mæhlen (13), Robin T. Howard (12), and Siri Vreim Ørbeck (11).

SUMMERTIME SAVOY - by Espen A. Eik

Frode Unneland (left), and Lauren and Paul Waaktaar-Savoy of Savoy have screwed up the tempo a bit for their summer release. (Photo: Marlen Kihle)
Paul Waaktaar-Savoy has moved into the fast lane, but should that necessarily mean he has to write about drugs?
It would be tempting to say that «Savoy's summer album» is an impossibility, but thankfully, it isn't. The band responsible for songs like «Rain» and «Lackluster Me» have not only recorded songs for their «Savoy Songbook» like, well, «Rain» and «Lackluster Me» again, though in new and tighter versions, but also screwed up the tempo and written songs that aren't half-hearted, that don't sound as if they were written with the writers' faces turned to a wall in a dark room.
The first single, «Karma Boomerang», for example, describes an enjoyable visit to the cafe, Grey Dogs, in New York.
"But the song is not about the cafe, really," says Paul.
He doesn't elaborate. That was apparently enough.
An ephemeral quality
Drummer Frode Unneland would like to interject that he, as a Bergenite, feels that «Rain» is an appropriate summer song.
Lauren tells us that she always has fought for Savoy songs to be faster.
"Then you must have been able to tolerate a fair amount of disappointment."
"I know! But it's always been like that with Paul. His natural tendency is to write ballads, so it's other people that have to convince him to turn up the tempo. That was what happened with a lot of a-ha's songs, too. «The Sun Always Shines On TV», for example, began as a ballad."
Paul nods and explains:
"But it's just that that gives many of the songs their special, esoteric quality – the slow melody lines over the faster composition."
Narcotics?
On the way to the interview I was thinking that the new song, «Best Western Beauty», had a-ha-like synth sounds and drumbeats. This observation drew a mixed reception from the band. Lauren says that she fell on the ground laughing when her husband firist came up with the synth part of the song. The synth-ist himself is quiet for a moment.
"Well, it's become easier for me to combine the two bands. It isn't such an effort anymore," he says.
He's holding the one arm out to one side. It seems this arm is meant to symbolize Savoy. The other arm is held out to the other side, and obviously is meant to symbolize a-ha. And as they approach one another, Paul says that he would have liked more time to use on Savoy, and that a-ha always has been there as an entity, and that he hopes to be able to be more of a Savoy man from now on through the fall. And then he lets his arms fall, just before they would have met.
"In «Karma Boomerang» there's a line that goes, «You take your crystal pill // you get an instant thrill» – is this Savoy's «Lucy in the Sky»-moment?"
Paul's eyebrows shoot up over his pilot sunglasses.
"Well, you can choose. Either it's about heavy drugs, or it's a reference to the pills Lauren takes for her lactose intolerance."
And Lauren takes the opportunity here to show us how she fell on the floor laughing when she first heard the Paul's synths for «Best Western Beauty».
